Pro TipA small daily fee applies for vehicles. Summer weekends fill up fast; the dog beach is first-come, first-served. Bring water for your pup!

The Broadneck Park complex offers a dedicated off-leash dog park alongside beautiful wooded trails on the Broadneck Peninsula. The open play area is fully fenced and well-maintained, with separate sections for large and small dogs.

Pro TipCombine the off-leash dog park with a hike on the nearby trails for a perfect half-day outing. Weekday mornings are quieter and more relaxed.

Millersville, MD

Kinder Farm Park offers 288 acres of open farmland, wooded trails, and meadows. Dogs are welcome on-leash throughout the park, and the generous open space makes it feel like a countryside retreat just minutes from Annapolis and major commuter routes.

Pro TipThe inner loop trail is about 2 miles and relatively flat; great for all ages and fitness levels. The park is less busy on weekday mornings.

One of the most iconic annual events in Annapolis — the U.S. Navy Blue Angels take to the skies over the Chesapeake Bay each May to celebrate the Naval Academy's Commissioning Week. Here are Jennelle's local tips for making the most of this once-a-year spectacle right in your backyard.

The Blue Angels at USNA

Every May, the U.S. Naval Academy's Commissioning Week culminates with a breathtaking aerial performance by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels — the Navy's elite flight demonstration squadron. The skies above the Chesapeake Bay and the Severn River become the stage for one of the most thrilling air shows in the country, drawing thousands of spectators from across the region.

Pro TipThere is a Rehearsal Day (Tuesday) and the full Performance Day (Wednesday). Both are incredible — but Wednesday is the main event.

Viewing from the Naval Academy

For the best possible vantage point, the U.S. Naval Academy opens Dewey Field to the public during the air show. Free parking is available with a shuttle from the stadium to the footbridge. Entry is through Gates 1 & 8 — have your ID ready.
